October 15, 2016

TOKYO, JAPAN

Former WBA super-feather champ Takashi Uchiyama (24-1-1, 20 KOs) announced on Wednesday that he would go on fighting and face Jezreel Corrales to avenge his last and sole defeat in his career via unexpected second-round knockout in the end of this year. The 36-year-old Japanese veteran had registered eleven defenses, but suffered a shocker with the Panamanian southpawfs opening attack this April. Uchiyama said, gI am eager to regain my belt since I was careless in the first encounter.h If successful, he will be the oldest world champ ever produced in Japan. Time will tell.
