KUROKI KEEPS WBC FEMALE 105LB BELT

June 9, 2016

TOKYO, JAPAN

WBC female mini-flyweight champ, Japanese southpaw speedster Yuko Kuroki (15-4-1, 7 KOs), 105, kept her belt when she kept battering Filipino challenger Nori Guro (7-6-1, 4 KOs), 104.5, and finally dropped her for the count at 2:09 of the eighth round on Monday in Tokyo, Japan. It was a contest of southpaws, but Kuroki, making her fourth defense, was much faster and more aggressive from the outset, having her kneel down in round three. After the fourth, the open scoring system indicated Kuroki was leading on points after the fourth: 40-35 twice and 39-36. Accelerating her attack, Kuroki finally caught up with the fading challenger and floored her for the full count. The jubilant victor, a police executivefs daughter, said, gI wish to unify the 105-pound belts in the future.h Good luck.
