NAGOYA, JAPAN

Unbeaten 20-year-old Japanese enfant terrible, WBO 105-pound champ Kosei Tanaka (6-0, 3 KOs) announced to relinquish his world belt to move up to the 108-pound category on Thursday in Nagoya, Japan. His manager/promoter and ex-WBC 122-pound titlist Kiyoshi Hatanaka also disclosed that Tanaka will face IBF#9 junior flyweight Rene Patilano (15-1-2, 7 KOs), from Philippines, in Nagoya on May 28. Tanaka, who acquired the world belt in his only fifth pro bout last May, wishes to face WBO junior flyweight ruler Donnie Nietes in quest of his 108-pound throne in the near future.
