KONO, TAGUCHI TO DEFEND WBA BELTS IN JAPAN

TOKYO, JAPAN

WBA super-flyweight champion Kohei Kono (31-8-1, 13 KOs), Japan, will defend his belt against #7 Inthanon Sithchamuang (28-7-1, 17 KOs), from Thailand, in Tokyo on April 27. On the same bill, his stablemate Ryohei Taguchi (23-2-1, 10 KOs) will also put his WBA light-flyweight belt on the line against Venezuelan veteran, #7 Juan Landaeta (27-8-1, 21 KOs) in the first title go. The headliner of the WBA tripleheader will be the 130-pound ruler Takashi Uchiyama (24-0-1, 20 KOs), making his twelfth defense, who will cope with WBA interim titlist Jezreel Corrales (19-1-1NC, 7 KOs), Panama, over twelve rounds. It will be presented by Watanabe Promotions and telecast nationwide through TV Tokyo.
