Unbeaten Japanfs Boxer of the Year, WBA 130-pound super champ Takashi Uchiyama (24-0-1, 20 KOs) will headline a WBA tripleheader featuring as many world title bouts of his stablemates in Tokyo, Japan, on April 27. Uchiyama will face WBA interim titlist, Panamanian Jezreel Corrales (19-1, 7 KOs) in the main event, and the other two will be title defenses of WBA super-fly ruler Kohei Kono and WBA light-fly titleholder Ryoichi Taguchi in companion title goes.
Uchiyama, making his twelfth defense, was originally supposed to face Nicholas Walters in the US, since he has been eager to try his fists and prove his strength outside of Japan. The WBA, however, abruptly made an order for Uchiyama to face the regular champ Javier Fortuna (29-0-1, 21 KOs), a southpaw speedster hailing from Dominican Republic, but the negotiation reportedly fell through at the last minute and the interim ruler Corrales eventually replaced Fortuna with the special permit submitted by Watanabe Promotions to the Association. Uchiyama, 36, is aiming to break the record of thirteen defenses registered by WBA 108-pound kingpin Yoko Gushiken in 1980fs. People here pay great attentions to our outstanding champ Uchiyamafs activity of this year.
