On the undercard of WBC world title doubleheader, former WBA 105-pound and 108-pound titlist, unbeaten Nicaraguan Roman gEl Chocolatitoh Gonzalez (39-0, 33 KOs), 112.25, easily halted Filipino Juan Purisima (11-3-1, 3 KOs), 112, at 1:20 of the third round in a supporting eight on Sunday in Tokyo, Japan. Gonzalezfs appearance in a tune-up go was supposed to be a publicity for his next schedule to have a shot at the winner of the WBC flyweight title bout which will be held next. The Nicaraguan battered the game Filipino upstairs and downstairs, dropping him on knees midway in round two. Accelerating his attack in the next session, referee Fukuchi quickly declared a halt.
